A scene I swore I saw but have never seen it again?

It's part of the end scene and it has Sarah in the park when she's older and John is there older as well playing with his kids and then she suddenly sees the T-1000 and freaks out and wakes up in the park and it was all just a dream.

Did I imagine that?

reply

I remember that...I think.

reply

This must be similar to the Moonraker braces.

reply

It was either she dreamed it or the guy who played the T-1000 was just a normal guy in the park with a kid when she freaked over nothing.

I mean, you're referring to the alternate ending, obviously? There was only the one ever released as a deleted scene, and it certainly never involved the T-1000.

I have a memory of Return of the King where Gandalf gets cornered when the big trolls break through in Minas Tirith, and uses a spell to kind of blast/stun them and escape. I even remember talking to my friend about it right after we got out of the theater, about how he doesn't use obvious magic often, except for two specific parts in the film (the other being the Nazgul). I was 18 and have had this memory ever since, but I obviously must have imagined it somehow as well.

Sounds like a scene from a Brian De Palma movie

reply

I don’t recall the original post including horrendous overacting, bad lighting, and someone snorting enough coke to kill a hundred men.

reply

What the OP describes is not unlike the ending to DRESSED TO KILL and CARRIE. It is also a false memory which he refuses to accept. However, your point is well taken.

reply

I liked your sarcasm. I’ve always felt De Palma was incredibly overrated.

Untouchables is one of the worst movies ever and it has an insane cast.

reply

I like The Untouchables because it's over the top. Still, you're correct

reply

I really wanted to like it.

I see he’s doing the new Predator. :/

You probably agree with me that Sean Connery shouldn't have won an Oscar for it, GD? I admit though I enjoy it as an action film but it isn't the best movie ever.

reply

I admit it’s been years since I’ve seen it. I even bought it on dvd years i after I first saw it to see if it was as bad I remember. It was.

The cast is amazing. But what I remember is the cinematography is atrocious. The dialog and plot is bad. And the acting is even bad. A product of bad direction.

All his stuff is totally over done. Over acted etc...

Yes it's similar to this one, and she sees the guy who was the T-1000 and starts freaking out and then she sees him picking up a child and realizes he's just a regular guy.

reply

Is there a clip of the scene with the T-1000?

reply

I saw it played on TV a looooong time ago in a show about the movie, but I've never seen it online.

reply

I tell ya, that sounds real familiar to me. I wonder if that wasn't another movie or even a spoof of this one. But this ending here is certainly the one i've seen before.

reply

I believe the scene you speak of is on one of the "director's cut" versions.

reply

Speaking of that scene - why do you think it was shot? Does anyone think this was ever seriously considered to be the ending of T2 or was Cameron just playing around?

reply

From what I have gathered it is not unusual for a movie to have several scenes shot that are never used.

reply

I know, but so many people like that ending and to me it simply doesn't make sense. How would people like Sarah and John suddenly become model citizens and live normal lives? I think he had to be just playing around and never even seriously considered this to be the ending.

reply

If he had chosen that ending though we may not have gotten the inferior sequels.
