Why is it called 'High Heels'?

Are there a lot of shots of high heels? Are high heel shoes part of the plot literally or figuratively like "In Her Shoes"?

True, the DVDs are rather pricey, but if you can play it on VHS it's pretty reasonable. It'll run you about $10. Here's the link to the Amazon page. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/6302530148/sr=8-5/qid=1170609058/ref=pd_bbs_olp_5/103-9518504-5671837?ie=UTF8&s=video

it's not, it's called "Tacones Lejanos" (Distant Heels)
and it's called that way refering to the last scene where Rebeca tells her mom that when she was a kid she couldn't sleep untill she would listen to the sound of the mom's heels walking away in the corridor.

reply

EXACTLY.

".. until I heard your distant heels".

"Rebeca tells her mom that when she was a kid she couldn't sleep untill she would listen to the sound of the mom's heels walking away in the corridor."

That's right, but the heels didnĀ“t walk away, the walked towards her (Rebeca). It meant her mother was coming home.

This is the right answer...

It's called "Tacones Lejanos" because of the last scene, when Rebeca's mom is dying and she tells her that as a kid she could only sleep when she heard the distant sound of the her mom's heels in the corridor

There is also the idea that high heels are a symbol of feminity and strength...

also, High Heels would seem to appeal more to an American audience than something sounding so strange as distant heels. But the above comments are the correct answers.

The same thing happens with dark habits. The true Spanish title is a reference to a Catholic tradition, but in the english translation you get both "Dark Habits" and "Dark Hideout." The difference is that with dark habits, at least the english title is somewhat related to the plot.

There's nothing strange about "Distant Heels"

It's time for a backlash against digital photography, motion pictures, music, sfx
