Yes, he/she did tell Walter, while they were drinking at a bar, before they slept together.
The female Steve told Walter that he can't sleep with her,

Very, very, odd that she/he would pull his pals pants off when they came home drunk. As a buddy, he would have told him to sleep on the couch and don't puke on it.
No guy is gonna take his buddie's pants off to get him to sleep. Guys are fine sleeping in their pants.
