Suburban Commando 2 Update

April 23, 2007 — No, seriously. It appears that The Rock was approached about doing Suburban Commando 2, the sequel to that bad movie starring Hulk Hogan:

The Rock was on fine form, joking about how well The Scorpion King had performed at the US box office, and revealing a little about how he'd made better career choices than another WWF stars we could mention. 'I always joke with Hulk Hogan - what were you thinking...Mr Nanny?!' he said. 'Oddly enough there was a script circulating for Surburban Commando 2 and my agent wanted me to read it, but I said to him 'that's not for me.'

'Luckily it was between Surburban Commando and Scorpion King,' he joked, 'and I picked Scorpion King. Good choice!'

"the sequel to that bad movie starring Hulk Hogan"

I don't think that this film is at all a "bad movie" it is obviously not a 'classic' but there is no way you can ever call this film a bad movie.

It would be a wonderful thing after all these years to have a second movie that would have Hulk Hogan come back to earth as Shep Ramsey and with the way they can do so much with computer animation now it would be a great one. I still can not get over the fact on the original movie how at first he has a hard time riding a skateboard and then at the end he shows those kids he can ride it really good.

It seems kind of strange that they would be developing a sequel to a movie that absolutely bombed in theaters and was released over a decade ago.

I absolutely love Suburban Commando, and would very much love to see a sequel!!!

If the sequel is made, it needs to be made soon and with Hulk Hogan returning as Shep Ramsey. Christopher Lloyd is a given too.

reply

YES! I would love that!!!!

There isn't going to be a sequel. The first movie lost money.

Then, I will direct a remake!

The dilemma would remain the same. Commercially, the "Sububan Commando" property wouldn't be worth anything. For all of the money you spent obtaining the rights and getting the project off the ground, you would be in some serious financial trouble.
