the undertakers thoughts about this movie?

i wonder what the undertaker thinks about being a part of this film now. i'm sure he did it back in the day for the paycheck since he wasn't known, and hasn't made the big bucks yet,and was trying to support his wife and child. but now being a living legend, do you think he might think of this film as one of his embarrasing moments?

reply

He is Hogans buddy, so he obviously arranged a cameo for him.

reply

Wasnt he the Undertaker at the time? Cause I could swear looking back to when I saw this at the cinema, that I recognised him as another WWF wrestler.

reply

He is mean about it!

Its that man again!!

Well Craig, when it came out in 1991 he was on TV as The Undertaker, but when it was actually being filmed, he hadn't debuted yet.

It's possible this movie was supposed to be the launching pad for who we know as The Undertaker today. Perhaps Vince had a stupid idea that one of Hogan's on screen rivals would make his way to the wrestling world to create a real life [kayfab] feud... but seeing as how no one cares about Zues from "No Holds Barred" and the fact the guy is more remembered now as the president in "The Fifth Element" and one of the main characters brothers in "Little Nicky", it was most likely for the best that we didn't get Mark Calloway debuting as something stupid for WWF like "The Bounty Hunter" or whatever stupid concept they may ave come up with at the time.

U don't know ur wrestling if u say that The Undertaker made his debut in 1990 Survivor Series on The Million Dollar Man's team cuz at the time he manage him. If u don't think I am right look it up BTW been a fan of the WWF/WWE since 1980 & still am so Ik my stuff with out the aid of the internet.

IIRC he did this for a paycheck.... he had basically been a steady mid carder in WCW, but nothing special... he then got a part in this movie and him and Hogan became friends and was Hogan that introduced him to Vinnie Mac, where he debut as Kane the Undertaker a couple of weeks before the 1990 survivor series in house shows, with the 1990 Survivor series his full debut with WWF.

This movie was filmed in 1990 when Hogan handed over the title to Warrior at WM6 and was kayfabe badly beaten up by Earthquake and was out for several months (reality he was filming this... pretty much the same how he was written out of the Championship picture in 1988 to film No Holds Barred) and by the time this came out in October 1991, Undertaker was just entering the main event scene (throughout most of 1991 he had been used very sparingly)

He thinks it was a nice paycheck at a time in his career when he really needed one, and how he was able to become of member of the Screen Actors Guild. Which means good medical benefits and a retirement fund.

how does this work?

If you act in literally 1 film get to be a part of the Guild and gets great medical benefits and a retirement funds?

that seems Fishy, It seems a little too good to be true...could you explain it to me?

SAG is a union. If your in a movie, especially one by a known studio, then you are able to join the union. And as long as you pay your dues every year, you can stay in, regardless of it you acted in anything that year.

This is very common, and a big deal for wrestlers, since the WWE or any other group doesn't offer benefits, and obviously they get hurt a lot. Mick Foley talked about this in his book.

what does this evolve?

Paying the one time application fee. Then making a yearly payment, along with a small percentage of your acting income.
