Who did you prefer in the role?? Laura Tate or Denice Duff??

I liked Laura Tate more even though Denice did a fine job with the role.

Laura Tate, definitely. I always hated that Michele went from a cropped haired woman to a longer than shoulder lengthed woman. Tate just seemed smarter in her ways than Duff. But I agree that Duff wasn't all that bad.

Laura Tate hands down!!! Her looks and short hair in that movie made her a mature women compare to Denice Duff in the second movie.

Regarding acting performances I feel like Duff had the more challenging role and is arguably the superior actress. Tate was quite minimalist in the first film whilst Duff was more expressive and emotive in the second and third films. I'd say I prefer Duff though in saying like I did like Tate in the role too.
Also in these situations of a character being recast, I feel like the first actor has the advantage. They set the standard and became the character in question, they were the starting point and any differences that the new actor brings will be seen as aberrations.
