Who else thought the whole cast was ugly as hell?

Was it me, or was it that eveyone in this movie was the ugliest people I'd ever seen.

Shirley (Dennis girlfriend) Was that a wig on her head or a poodle? I couldn't tell.

Frankie(Dennis Mother)Raccoon eyes that only a drunken husband could love.

Ray (Dennis father) Couldn't afford to cast robin harris, so they went with the closest thing.

Caroline (Dennis sister) A leprechaun dressed in woman's clothing plus poor acting skills just don't mix.

Dennis- Must I really point out how goddamn ugly he is?

..closest thing..I thought it was a "closet thing". the dude had breast bigger than mine.

Wig?? you mean that was her hair?!! I thought she was underattack by a poodle. she looked like she had a animal tape to her head.

pretty much just your shallow, fake ass.

a creative dude puts together a cinematic effort on a shoestring budget and a-holes like you start a punk ass post like this

zero creativity, passion or effort.

Paris Hilton would be proud.

This is one of my favorite black movies all time.

I think that Carolyn was the only one who is not ugly, She actually looks so pretty, high educated, she looks more like "Nia Long".

Hell man, I think it's realistic. Take a walk around Red Hook sometime, I haven't seen to many model-types there.

Well it's kind of nice to see real looking people on movie sometimes. Besides what did you expect for them to look like esp. Frankie the mother?

Hahaha, I have to agree. The cast was not very attractive at all. Carolyn, The Mother and one of Dennis' friends (can't remember his name) were pretty decent however. Still a good movie though.

It was an indie production--what the hell did you expect to see---models and video girls? I found the cast a hell of a lot more realistic looking than some Botoxed-up-to-the-gills big-name actors. When you're making a movie and you don't have a big studio backing ou with an unlimited budget, you got to work with whoever/whatever you can get. I liked the damn movie,myself and thought that it was pretty good---not great,but good---considering the director himself was barely out of high school when he made it.

Well said, kgreene12_248! I thought that it was kind of a realistic look at a real family & it was nice to see normal looking people. I'm not sure what they were supposed to look like esp. the mother. I remember a long time ago when they had this character that got recast on Days of Our Lives & the recast was very pretty, but she didn't match the original actress or the way that the character was written & had grown up.

I'm not lying....anytime I ask some1 did they see this movie before,the 1st thing they say is"damn it was some ugly ppl in that movie." lol
but,carolyn & kevin(i thoght he was kinda cute)everybody else in the cast,if I can't say anything nice I won't say anything at all.

For one, don't get your panties in a bunch, the post was meant to be humourous, so laugh about it or don't laugh and move on....Secondly in reality there are people in the hood that are good looking, so it wouldn't have been unrealistic to have the main characters be easy on the eyes...Just because you're poor, doesn't mean you're ugly too, I grew up in bed-stuy brooklyn where there was plenty of guys in the hood that were cute as hell, sure you had the ugly ones but the cuties were definetly around. I really could of cared less about what the parents and the sister looked like, but the main characters could of been better looking, it would of made for good eye candy as far as I'm concerned. The movie itself was a good one, don't get me wrong..but, I just think the faces in this movie was quite unappealing to watch.

I think it gives the movie more credibility...its more realistic, true to life.

Hell, you ever drive to the south side of Chicago?! Anyone there could be a star or extra in this film.

Yes, all of these people were very ugly. They could have been realistic and not been this ugly.

I'm not sure what area of chicago "cooley high" was filmed. but it was chi-town & it's some ugly mother *beep* in that movie too!lol!
