controversy between Meyer and Nimoy behind the scenes?

I hadn't heard anything about that. I was always under the assumption that they got along pretty good, the only thing that I do know Nicholas Meyer disagreed on was Star Trek III. He knew they were going to bring Spock back, but he didn't really want to have to handle the story, because he doesn't like bringing characters back from the dead. He was on board again when they made Star Trek 4 because Spock's return was all behind them by that point. He mentioned this on the audio commentary for the Star Trek IV DVD.
