You mean her natural New York accent that 99.9% of New Yorkers have, or the fake one that she used to reveal that Montana Morehead was a man? If you're referring to the first one, get over it. If you're referring to the second one, the bad accent was employed on purpose. And again, get over it.

Did I say everybody? Reading is fundamental. And yes, many New Yorkers, including my father, has a thick accent. I need to get out more often? You need to watch more Whoopi movies or even her stand-up specials. I'll assume from the link to the horrifically put together MySpace page that it's yours and you are from New York. It'd be interesting to hear what you sound like. Really, it would.

Don't know much about accents, but i LOVED Whoopi in this--she's on her game and hilarious. Plus, she and Sally Field in real life became great friends while filming this, and it shows in the picture.
Then again, while she's had her share of bombs, I think Whoopi is great in just about anything--Color Purple, Ghost, Boys on the Side, Sister Act, Soapdish, Jumpin Jack Flash, and my all time favorite Whoopi movie, Corrina Corrina, i never get tired of that film (or of Joan Cusack!), it's just about as perfect as a little movie can be!
I almost fell over when I realized little Molly from Corrina, Corrina was the same girl in Napoleon Dynamite. She looks the exact same! And she's not a weirdo like the kid from the My Girl movies! Excellent!

shareI'm just simply going to disagree. I never found anything annoying about her voice in this film. She's one of my favorite characters in the film. I'm really not sure what you're seeing, but based on other posts, your need to hate it seems strangely compulsive.
