Creepy Ben

Anyone else find Bencreepy, he meets a girl and practically forces himself on her,she should have got rid of him

reply

Yep, Ben is creepy indeed.

There's been a couple threads about this, in fact.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

reply

Yes, he was very creepy.

I could imagine a sequel where he is even worse than Martin, in a different way. Maybe he's a serial killer.

reply

I noticed that also. He appeared friendly but I think Sarah would be drawn away from his forceful ways. I would think that Sarah would stay away from relationships much longer.

reply

his dancing was the scariest thing about him.

Ben was a piece of crap... He almost raped Laura on the steps when she repeatedly told him NO & STOP after it became uncomfortable for her... Poor prick was just as much of a stalker Psycho as her husband who btw played one hell of a villian... His facial expressions and demeanor was comical in some cases especially when he was about to smother her blind mother.

I think some men look for women like her. Then can read women like that and they think to themselves, "Oh she seems really quiet/green/innocent. I bet it would be easy to get over on her."

I'm always up for yet another good Ben bashing. I think we all found him repulsive and creepy for a slew of reasons. Mostly though, I just think it was a big mistake to date the all-too-eager guy next door so quickly. Can you imagine Ben sitting still if she dared sit on that porch swing with some other guy?
Also... his manly fighting skills. He comes crashing through the door with a big handful of nothing. Better to call 911. Of course, if he had just danced with Martin he may have stood a chance. The idiot seems to think swing dancing means you literally manhandle and forcibly spin the girl. That that was brutal and cringe worthy.
I'll give the actor some credit, though, for his performance as Bobby Kennedy in Hoffa. The little twerp held his own in going toe to toe with Jack Nicholson.

I couldn't stand this character, especially when he walked inside her house without being invited and scared her to death. B*tthole with a mullet!

reply

 Great post, laurieann74. I agree completely.
I couldn't stand Ben, he was such a pushy twerp.
She's startled by his appearance in her house, and he seems to chuckle at her for it. WHY?!
A couple dates doesn't give someone free reign to waltz into their homes uninvited & unannounced.
She clearly told him she'd be outside in 20 minutes. Pushy pushy!

Agree also with the poster who mentioned his *manly fighting skills*.
Good grief, Laura assaulted Martin better than he did!

Ben's in love with her!

What does that have to do with anything??

I thought this movie was great but do wish they would've had a different actor play Ben and make him not play so weird / goofy. Ben came across to me as only wanting to get in her pants.
