I lke the fact that when one person meets someone else that new person walks off and meets someone new and etc etc. It is a basic idea and I thought it would of been done before 'Slacker'.

Not entirely original- as Ebert talks about in his review, Linklater got the idea (or at least was inspired by) from a Luis Bunuel film called The Phantom of Liberty, where characters are introduced and then looped onto another and another, obviously in his surrealistic style. The difference with Slacker is that it's more of a realistic style, or an anthropologist's style, as he is one of the most observant-minded of the generation-xer directors. I need to see it again...
