Did you relate with any of the characters?

The movie was very funny without a doubt. However, in my opinion, it pointed to a very sad and unfortunate aspect of human behaviour.

I am not aware about the rest of you; however I saw a lot of similarity in my thought and action with several of the characters and could totally relate to some of them. And I wonder why does this have to be such.

It is true that boredom is an important aspect of human development and progress. However, there may pass an elongated phase of life when a person, very much like the characters in the movie, gets stuck within the same rut. Hanging out in the same places and doing the same repetitive unproductive time-killing tasks on a daily/weekly basis simply due to their falling within the person's comfort zone. May be it arises from the fear of change, maybe not. I do not know. The movie definately resurfaced my inner fear - that of remaining in the same position, for say 10 years or so, without any significant improvisation to my life.

Did anyone else correlate with the characters?

Yeah most of the people do nothing and sit around and talk about stuff al the time, but never go through with it.

Surprised i didnt see any pot in this movie

ISCREAM22 HAS SPOKEN!!

Well, thus the title "Slacker."

It really is depressing though, because i do know a lot of people like this, with all of these really deep thoughts and such, and they don't have any motivation to do anything, and eventually just drown their sorrows with pot and booze.

Of course if i had a choice, id much rather be in that boat, than following the government-installed assembly line to our "perfect" house in the suburbs with the expensive car and the green-striped sofa units...

"They'll never catch me... because I'm *beep* innocent!

I'm trying to avoid both the government-installed assembly line and the sit-on my-butt all day and think deep thoughts lifestyle. Oh, the agony of trying to find that balance.

Can't say I relate to any of the characters. I've met many people like the overly analytical ones in grad school and one of my relatives is a lot like the anti-establishment, non conformist hitchhiker.

Karma's a bizzle.

I loved the grouchy suit wearing guy that hooked up with the junkyard dudes and wanddered to the friend playing arcade games at the drugstore

Uh....what was the question?

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar, or doesn't.
