Buffalo Bill's voice was so creepy. Does Ted Levine really sound like that? (I've never seen him in anything else.)

It's a more deranged exaggeration of his real voice. I'm not too familiar with his other work either, but he did have a small role in 'Shutter Island'.

It's creepy because he plays in the TV show Monk and sounds exactly the same.

Yes he does have a really unique voice , I actually really like it

I was waiting for my hearse what came next was so much worse

Levine was great in a voice-only role in "Joy Ride."

Ted Levine is one of the best supporting actors in business for for almost three decades and he has appeared in Heat,American Gangster,Shutter Island and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,having work with Michael Mann,Jonathan Demme,Martin Scorsese,Ridley Scott.
And yes,this is his real voice,in a slightly different(more creepy) version.

More or less yes that's really what he sounds like. I noticed him in Shutter Island when he had his monologue. Couldn't place his voice the first couple viewings, but I knew I recognized it.
