How did Hannibal get the pen in his possession from off the bed?

My only guess is that it was his bed (Hannibal's) that Dr Chilton was laying and taking on.

Once Chilton left and they successfully unstrapped Hannibal, he then confiscated the pen.

Presumably he palmed it at one point

It's not shown but I've always thought maybe Barney had something to do with it. When a Chilton tells Barney to leave them alone, Barney kinda freezes for a second, and then he starts to leave. As he's leaving, you can hear Hannibal whisper Barney's name. We all know that he killed Miggs by whispering to him all night. So I kinda thought Hannibal had gotten into barneys head the same way.

Thanks. I also think this happens when he tells her that her bleeding has stopped. There was no way for him to know that she scratched her leg, right? He didn't whisper to her or anything, but he had to have been reading her mind somehow.

By the way, I'm female. ; )
