Subtle Racism?

Did anyone else notice that the flower delivery guy, that rang the door to Gumb's home (the mistaken one), and the TACT (mistakenly referred to in the movie as SWAT) team member, that opened the elevator hatch door, were both African-American? "Let's send in the black guy..."

WTH!

reply

The SWAT team member who uses the mirror to identify "Hannibal" on the lift and then fully exposes himself to shout to Hannibal to move away from the handgun is white. The black swat team member is called to make the shot.

If anything the black guy is called in as a specialist sharpshooter to make the shot the other guys can't make.

But i digress the film isn't about race.

reply

A black person delivering flowers? Who looks positively ANGELIC compared to WHO HE IS DELIVERING THEM TO? Ok, I guess that is pretty racist!

reply

If the SWAT guy had been white, somebody would have complained that black people weren't fairly represented in positions of responsibility, making the movie racist. You can't win.

reply

You seriously need to get a life!

reply

The orderly at the hospital who treated Clarice with class and respect was a black guy. Oh my the racism is deep in this movie.

reply

Plus all the people we see behind bars (or glass) in this movie are black... oh wait

reply

If they weren't there you'd call racism if they are there you call racism. You don't get both sides of the coin.

reply

Really ignorant post, just dumb.

reply

How you ever reached that conclusion is beyond me. I'd say the OP has some issues with race himself.

reply

Reaction formation 101. Condemn every silly little thing as "racist" in order to hide your own discomfort with being around people who don't look like you. The rest of us are busy just living our lives.

reply

ive just spent 5 minutes trying to work out what the OP was thinking ... drawing a blank

reply

Clearly the OP is a racist troll trying to stir to pot. Its all over the place, esp in here.
