Brandon Lee, gaying it up?

Before anyone cries troll, I mean his character, not him, OK?

'If we die, I just want you to know, you have the biggest dick I've seen on a man.'

Really?, who wrote that?
Dudes just don't say that to other dudes. Not straight ones, anyway.

If in that situation, I'd be a little confused as to why a guy I barely know would choose to compliment me in such a way.

And the 'I saw you come out of the hot tub, I'd be scared too' line didn't help either...

lol I know what you mean, although he did seem to like the sushi chicks.

Who doesn't like Sushi Chicks?

It's a shame the writers made his character so stupid in this movie. I guess it was supposed to be funny that he did not know any Asian/Japanese culture. Just came off as stupid.

Sig, you want a sig, here's a SIG-sauer!

reply

Totally gaying it up. Great movie tho, I caught this a few days ago on the 300 channels and my friends and I had a great laugh. Totally forgot about this one.

reply

I saw it years ago and those scenes were always stuck in my head.

"Embrace the Unknown.
For it is the only thing that awaits us at the end..."

reply

Great movie? Sad how some people's standards are so low. This movie was annoyingly stupid. Lee as a dumb wisecracking motormouth sidekick acting like he doesn't know his own heritage - while Dolph acts like he knows everything about his pal's culture. Extremely lame. I'm sure they got Lee because Rob Schneider wasn't available.

reply

Dude. Chill.
It was the early 90's and corny action films were king. It wasn't meant to win any Oscars. just provide 90 minutes or so of goofy fun.
Get of your high horse, idiot.

"Embrace the Unknown.
For it is the only thing that awaits us at the end..."

reply

Exactly what I mean by extremely low IQ. Chill yourself, moron.

reply

You are assuming that I have a low IQ based solely on the fact that I find enjoyment in crappy 90's action films?

Move out of Moms basement.

"Embrace the Unknown.

reply

No, ass face - I'm calling you a low IQ moron because it's obvious in your little posts that you're complete tool.

This conversation is over.

That clicking sound is you going on my ignore list. Feel free to sit in the dark little room with all the other pricks and cry.

Yeah....and you know all about what makes a great movie......someone who rates Pulp Fiction 1/10, Reservoir Dogs 2/10 and Deadpool 8/10 

Showdown In Little Tokyo is one of the most intentionally ridiculous and over the top 90s action movies ever made. You come across as really stupid when you take movies like this seriously and try to sound smart by calling a movie that's so obviously intentionally cheesy and over the top like this dumb.

reply

Homophobic? Maybe it was just that huge lol. I've seen other movies where people something similar to that to one another.

If I thought Brandon Lee/his character was acting gay, I'd say so. But he wasn't. It was just a cheesy line from a cheesy movie.

It's funny because I saw alot of movies growing up, when there was no imdb obviously. And now going back over these movies on imdb, there also seems to be alot of these type of posts about gayness, bromances and stuff like that.. I guess some people are just more sensative or paranoid about it then others. It's possible to compliment another man about something without being a homo.

It's also funny because I cop flak sometimes for being homophobic myself. I guess there are varying degrees. I'm guessing none of you guys showered with other blokes as part of a sports team or as part of the military. That'd be gay.

One thing that irritates me about imdb boards it's the "looks like" topics. Never even close.

Dude Dolph Lundgren just got laid by Tia Carrere...Nuff Said

if you look at the trivia page it says they edited his line. he originally says biggest i've ever seen on a white man. so they took a line where he was making a joke and made it gay

[deleted]

That's cause Warner cut out his original line which was " you got the biggest dick I have ever seen on a white man". I'm sure you can figure out why if you read you Asian film history.

reply

Why is it gay to say it's the biggest dick he's ever seen? You didn't sneak a peek, ever? You're in denial if you say you've never compared yourself to other men.

reply

I figure it was just meant for humor. The script was pretty dumb and funny at times at just for how corny it was.

"You have the right to be dead!"

reply

Brandon Lee's character is so secure in his sexuality, that he is has no problem giving credit where credit is due.

Yup. Some rather eyebrow-raising statements there. Guess the screenwriters were so high on crack they didn't even f-cking care (in fact, no part of the script or the dialogue suggests they were in proper command of their mental faculties at any time during the so-called "creative process"). Hilarious.
