Don't compare this to Casablanca, metropolis, godfather, star wars, shawshank redemption. You are a *beep* idiot.
shareI love it when people take it upon themselves to judge other peoples' opinions...
sharethis is the best movie I've ever seen. one day it will see a resurgence, but in the oh-so-conservative 00's, it's simply too offensive (I never thought I'd actually say that). Seriously, this movie is filthy. So freakin funny, definitely a sweet find.
shareconservative? the films out after 2000 like "saw" "hostel" "american pie" are they conservative?
i dont think its about being conservative, i think we need more drunk clown movies!
directed by crispin glover!
I'd say this is like 6 and 1/2 times better than all those movies combined.
shareaww muffin, calm your ovaries now.

LOL, It had a few good moments.
Go the mighty maroons!
One incredible scene after another. Truly hilarious. I've watched it more times than I can remember. Definitely in my top ten.

I believe this movie was billed as 'The Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies.' I can't disagree.

I concur and I live two miles from the birthplace of Orson Welles. Any movie with Mrs Brady in a sleaze role has got to be good.
"Love's turned to lust and blood's turned to dust in my heart"
Yeah, that line was apparently from some writer at the Boston Globe

Someone challenged Scorsese with "Is there any movie that you wouldn't preserve? How about 'Shakes the Clown'?" Scorsese turned on his cynical questioner. "I like Shakes the Clown. Haven't you heard? It's the Citizen Kane of Alcoholic Clown Movies!"
