Cube and Sliver both came out years after Scissors. If you are implying this movie "borrowed" from those you mentioned. If not then I can see the connection to those four.

I saw this movie a long time ago on TV, after Basic Instinct first played in theatres, and it's always stuck in my mind, as Sharon Stone played a character so different from BI or Total Recall. I always thought this movie was like the book/movie The Collector (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059043/), definitely a classic thriller.
