Most unfair imdb rating I've ever seen

4.7?????????????

I gave this an 8, and if the ending wasnt as Hollywoody (not complete trash, but would have been nice -SPOILERS- if Stone had remained trapped and the psychologist's plan worked), I would have given it maybe even a 10. Easily one ofthe 10-15 best thrillers I've ver seen, the direciton was nothing short of genius, plot kept you guessing, no polt holes and everything explainable despite the outlandish premise. Simply amazing. I need to find more o the director's work...

I aggree. Personally I tend to rate movies from the level of entertainment they bring me. Not how well made they are.

I can understand the low rating but I can also understand that this movie is far more entertaining than many highly rated movies that are only well made but unwatchable if you want to see them again.

Example: "requiem for a dream" a movie that is LOVED by everyone and has a sky-high rating but that I wouldn't want to see again in a long time...

I love sharon stone in this, everybody laughs at her and think she sucks in this movie but I've never liked her better. And she's never looked hotter. The thought of her as a virgin makes me even more attracted to her hahaha.
Anyway in my book this is an 8 or 9. I love italian giallos too, they are also considered "trash" in many ppls ayes.

well since you're naked you might as well f___ a friend of mine. Paul come in here!

We really do have a bizarrely similar taste. I'm a sucker for kitsch De palma (from Dressed to Kill to Caine to Body Double, phjenomenal), and of course Bava/Argento...Have you seend Kindapped??

And same here with Requiem...I don't think it was a bad film, rated it a 7, if I'm not mistaken, but def not rewatchable, similar to Breaking The Waves, and a few more...Even some superb thrillers, like Memento, if you pieced it together the 1st time, and you know where its going its not that rewatchable...

If you have any giallos to wholeheartedly recommend, I'm all ears...

"Kidnapped"?, don't know that one.

I agree this film is worth an 8. It is a film I can watch again and again and has Stone looking her best.

Now is up to 4.8 [1039]. I agree, but there have so many not so well known good underrated thrillers like- Sister, Sister (1987), The Fan (1981), Mother's Boys (1994), Lisa (1990), Malicious (1995), Separate Lives (1995), The Seduction (1982) and so many others.

About the end- i have to disagree. The end work just fine for me.

reply

Yeah it's goofy in parts, but better than expected. Nothing wrong with the ending--the last shot more than justifies it.

reply

It was a straight to video type production hence the low rating.

Its that man again!!

reply

I'd give it a solid 7. Definitly not the most unfair rating on here, but it is much too low.

reply

Well, it's up to 5.0 now. Not that IMDb ratings are dependable or anything....
