Did anyone catch the reference to Blowup in this film?

When they got to the mall it seemed familiar, eventually I realised that it evoked Logan's Run(!), the lack of children and crumblies was palpable. Towards the end more children appeared and even the odd oldie, roughly synchronised with the protagonists' rapprochement.
