Everybody who thinks that this one is better than the 1st one, raise your hands!! I do!! Oki, acting is kind od average, but the structure, the plot and the ending..well, way better than the 1st!! Who's agree with me, please reply!

I like David Cronenberg but I have to say - Scanners I is a *boring* movie. Just my opinion and I'd certainly prefer to say 'I love it' but sadly... I can't.
It has two fantastic FX set-pieces (one near the start, one at the end) and that's about it. Very slow, very dull, hard to care about the characters or the plot...
And while there are some stylish shots, overall the movie looks rather bland.
On the other hand, I found Scanners II very entertaining. There is some definite cheese in there (which you know you're getting when the movie starts in a video arcade) but there are also a lot of fun ideas, plenty of action and a comic-book style plot. I was slightly reminded of RoboCop, and that's a good thing. Plus I think Christian Duguay gives the movie considerable style.
So that's how I feel. If you disagree, that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and entitled to enjoy whatever they wish :)
I don't agree but I am surprised at the amount of love for this film. It is a good sequel and has some great horror scenes in it.

Personally, I love both. The first was awesome, and so for a long time I didnt see the sequels cause I never thought they would be as good. Recently just watched Scanners II, and I was pleasantly surprised! Not only did I enjoy it, it has become my favorite Scanners film. Have yet to see III, but after New Order, Im keeping an open mind.
A great sequel to a great original :)
