Love it!

Salmonberries is one of my all-time favourite films.
A poetic, moving production.
Brilliantly directed, beautiful photography.
k.d. lang (quite convincing as a rude eskimo) and Rosel Zech (very classy and talented German actress) are great in it.

ALKjglutralnaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

I love this film!
I have seen it twice by borrowing it from the library. But the film disappeared (wtf!?) a year ago from the library and I haven't found a copy of it anywhere else (to buy or for rent) in Finland.

I just noticed that it is Percy Adlon who directed Bagdad Café that made Salmonberries, it makes sense...

Again: This is a very, very good film.

I just saw this movie for the first time. I must say it was better than the critics gave it. I just realized that Rose Zech was in Amiee and Jaguar.

No, I didn't watch November Moon.
How is it like?

Hi Wilde, it reminds me of Aimee and Jaguar. Novemeber Moon is a German movie, came out in 1985, the DVD came out in 2001 somewhere near that time.

The movie is about a wartime romance between November a Jewish woman and Ferial a French woman. November flees her native Germany for the safety of Paris, she meets and falls in love with Ferial the French woman.

The relationship becomes dangerous when the Germans occupy Paris. Ferial hides November and takes a job with the Nazi paper. Together they both face extraordinary circunstances.

Hello,
and thanks for recommending Novembermond.
I haven't seen it yet, just read a little about it on IMDb and it looks great!
I'm going to Germany (Berlin) next week, hopefully, I will find it there in a shop.

Aimee & Jaguar is another film that I've only read about, but I will buy it in Berlin, if I find it.

I first saw this in the early '90s and was desperate to find it since then. I got a copy last year and it was still as riveting and haunting as ever. I think lang's performance was very good considering the character she was portraying. Not much opportunity for depth, and I wish she'd ventured a bit more into films. Roswitha was fantastic, though. Great film!

I loved the movie too!! I downloaded it thru eMule, but now as I read it is k.d.lang interview on DVD, I want to have DVD!!!

I've joined the 'love it' band now. It's very beautiful to look at - the snow, the expanse, the cold, the interiors especially Roswitha's bedroom and the hotel room - and the theme song that is played throughout eerie and beautiful too. All the actors were great and kd Lang was perfect for the role of Kotzebue.

Keep silent unless what you are going to say is more important than silence.
