judging by a review, this film is a poor man's version of some other film. what film is it?

The film is sometimes considered a rip-off of "Bagdad Café", an earlier, much more successful film by the same director, Percy Adlon. But I think that's total BS. I'll always prefer "Salmonberries" over "Bagdad Café".

What does a snail have to do to reincarnate? Leave the perfect trail of slime?

when I saw the cover it reminded me of "boys don't cry", which is a very good film. this one, however, doesn't seem to have any violence in it, it must be just some pointless rambling about lesbians, eh?

This isn't a 'poor man's version' of Bagdad Cafe and neither is it about lesbianism. Adlon took a successful formula from Bagdad Cafe as a frame for Salmonberries, namely two women developing an emotional bond, but there the films diverge.

Keep silent unless what you are going to say is more important than silence.

Ok, doesn't seem to be worth watching anyway, I'd rather watch some older film.
