why the chance of this movie getting a dvd is slim to none..........

I'm not going to slam anyone here for liking this movie or liking Dangerfield as a comedian, I am simply going to tell you the truth as to why this movie has a very slim chance if any chance at all to coming to DVD.

Simply put:It was a humongous flop, and humongous flops in theatres are rarely seen as something that can make any money on DVD/home video.

If in the slim chance it does come to dvd it will be most likely the same as CaddyShack 2 did: a cheap clamshell case(the stupid cardboard case)and no special features-if it does come with so-called special features it will likely be the movie trailer and that is about it.

(I personally can't stand Rodney Dangerfield and find him to be one of the unfunniest and most annoying people ever-but that's me)

I saw this movie for the first time last weekend. I was pointles, but harmless. I managed to stay awake but it was nothing special. I think life as we know it could go on if this movie were never put on DVD.

"Fahrenheit 9/11".....the same film that grossed $222m on a $6m budget?

"The Royal Tenenbaums" ....the same film that grossed $71m on a $21m budget?

Might wanna try readjusting your "flops" list there bud.

The death of millions is just a statistic

Well they did release the Police Academy movies on DVD so anything is possible.

Rover Dangerfield was a harmless animated movie. Maybe, at that point in time, all animated movies that WEREN'T Disney were dying out, and of course, Disney would soon follow suite in the early 2000s, but I kinda miss those days. CG is just too boring. You can't replicate good old hand-drawn animation. It has a more sincere feeling to it.

If Howard the Duck can get a DVD release (which it did last month), then certainly there must be room on the shelves for Rover Dangerfield. Where's the petition at already?
