I was going to make a post about the new soundtrack, but I see you beat me to it. Yes, it's really great and I'm glad that Intrada provides both the complete film score and original film soundtrack (it's nice to be able to compare the flow and pacing of the two). I do wonder if there's any more bonus material that could have been included like the film edits of certain cues or alternate takes, since a lot of time Intrada (and La-La-Land Records) includes that kind of material in addition to the main albums. Maybe there just wasn't any material like that for “The Rocketeer”. But anyway, yes, this new release is fantastic and highly recommend to fans of the film or James Horner's music, or just good music in general.

Well, they said this was all of Horner's work, so basically I think that the final film that we see is pretty much what he sat down and scored, unlike some films that have a more rocky production or where the director re-edits the music or removes certain bits. The only thing mentioned in the booklet that we did not get was the music played during the Nazi promo animated reel, but it was a pre-existing piece and was not scored by Horner.

It's a great score, and I love getting all the smaller bits that was missing from the original soundtrack.
