I predicted it 8 years ago. And now here we are.

Disney is rebooting the rocketeer. I'm all for sequels and reboots myself, when its warranted or likely not to be *beep* up but I don't have a great feeling about this one.

The original movie worked so f•••ing well and was charming as f•••.

I just can't imagine what good can come from this. They're probably going to set it in the future and cast Nick Jonas or Taylor Swift as the f•••ing rocketeer.

It's a bloody shame.

Sooo, childhood destroyed?

Not exactly. I just don't envision it being a super good movie. If the new one sucks, you can always ignore it and go back to watch the old one.

Nixon don't let it ruin your childhood .... Just a movie

I would encourage you to read the comment directly before yours.

Reading is good.

Reading is good .... Watching movies is better though .... Reboots are never as good ... I agree

It is a shame. I think it's a cynical move by whomever is making the decisions. They want to change everything, but they're making it a sequel so they can easily hide from any criticism.

Anyhow, they've got an uphill battle ahead of them. Good luck putting together anything that approaches the original. I pity the person who has the write a score that will be compared to James Horner's work on the original film.

With all the live-action super hero stuff they're doing already through Marvel, you'd think someone would have the brains to say "hey, why don't we do this one animated?" Pixar, anyone?

I really just don't trust Disney at this point. The original wasn't about CGI, or even action. It was really more of an espionage movie masquerading as a comic book movie.

Just the little that I've read about this gives me the willys.
