Whats wrong with you people.

I loved this version. Whats wrong with some of you?! No rediculous special effects, no stupid story line, no naked chicks. Some versions having him fought in the crusades and others don't. This disparity bothers me but its small potatoes. This version had me laugh out loud. What were some of you expecting. The only major gripe is the sword fight at the end tween Robin and faucanet (forgive my spelling) I wish they would have consulted a sword master or someone with some experience when they shot this 'fight'. It was too predictable but otherwise this was an excellent movie. I liked it better then kevin Costners or Russel crowes. Some of you should actually watch it.

People have bad taste and this film never got the marketing and exposure that it really needed. If it had the marketing of Costner's travesty it would be more popular and well loved. It is one of the only films of the Robin Hood legends that stays true to the ballads and the classic works of literature that followed. Though there are some quibbles, it is the most accurate looking version with the civilian fashion shown to be (correctly) much like the fashion that was worn in the 1000 with only minor difference... most versions make the fashion far, far too high medieval when the fashion, like the language of the people, were still very ''Dark Age'' (ridiculous term for an era we now know quite a lot about). Language had not yet developed into Middle-English and the everyday fashion would still be largely the same for many years after this point.

The film was great with one of the best Robin Hoods. Bergin is not glamorous, he has that big bushy mustache for starters, but he is certainly very real looking and believable.

"no stupid story line"

I beg to differ. This is probably one of the most stupid stories ever told: A spoiled Saxon noble thinks himself above the law and betrays the king's justice and the trust of his friend the sheriff. After given the lightest sentence in history, he refuses to accept it, is outlawed, and goes on a criminal rampage.

What's so funny about it is that Robin acts like he is such a noble man, the noblest man, when he comes off as worse than the worst, suckerpunching people in the testicles, mock fighting drunken monks and repaying leniency and kindness with disdain.
