They should make a Blue Lagoon 3

I think that would be awesome! Maybe Richard and Lilli's Daughter would be raised until both her parents died and then she would live on the island by herself until a ship comes and they would take her to San Francisco and She would meet someone there and fall in love and have kids etc. That would be really really cool Does anyone at all agree with me???????

That would be kind of bored. I let her parents have another kids (they're sure have another ones, you know) and then there will be another "Em and Richards versions". Just liek that, you know.

I once proposed for a 3rd chapter, and my take was to bend more to the 'Swiss Family Robinson' style, rather than the 'Romeo & Juliet' style of the original.

The baby girl would have been set at the age of approx. 10 yrs old, and she would have been established with a younger brother, about age 6. While wondering through the Island, they would make two native orphans... an 11 year old boy, and a 6 year old girl. The young romance would begin with R&L's daughter, and their son and the native girl would be play-mates but planting the seed to an eventual romance!

I like that idea. Mine was similar only the natives were really escaped slave, Richard would die early in the story and Lilli would be captured by pirstes after helping the two children escape. the children would be left alone on the island for several years, eventually growing into young adults. Love would blossum, only the pirates would return and the children would have to rescue Lilli. I even wrote a story treatment for it.

I think they should make a blue lagoon three, but it shouldn't have anything to do with pirates; that would be kind of stupid.

reply

kinda. I'm still stuck on the Original Richard and Emmeline. I didn't want them to die! (but I haven't seen the sequel yet)
I want them to at least see society or something like that, then they'd return and be back to normal.

they definiately should make a 3rd Blue Lagoon, I'm pretty sure there is a third book by Henry Devere Stagpoole(i definatly spelled that wrong)i just have no idea what it is about, and i never saw the 2nd one either, but i loved the 1st one!!!

reply

They shudnt coz the best movie was the first. the 2nd was rubbish and a complete remake

reply

That is why I suggest giving the 3rd a more of a 'Swiss Family Robinson' twist. Eventuall there would be more generations and their descendants would populate the island.

reply

Another one? Given your scenario, it wouldn't really be Blue Lagoon. If they ever did another one, I'm sure they'd find some way to have a boy shipwreck on the island. At that point they'd have to call it Cannot Escape From the Blue Lagoon. Geez.

I would love it if they made a Blue Lagoon three. I sort of made up a little storyline in my head a long time ago. Richard and Lily raise their daughter on the island and when she is about ten years old she discovers a body washing up on the island. It's a young boy a few years older than she is. Richard and Lily grow fond of the boy and raise him as their own. One day the cannibals come and kidnap the family and only the children survive. They grow up and fall in love blah blah. After all of the necessary love stuff a boat passes by and they find out that the people on the boat are the boys family who have been looking for him. The boy comes from a very wealthy family. So he and the girl travel to the States and learn about the new world. I'll leave the rest to the imagination but I think that this makes alot of sense and could move the stories a step further.

I like the idea, however, with some differences. I think Richard and Lily die when Sarah is around 10 or 11 years old. She learns and accepts living on the island by herself. A few years later, a young Englishman around her age, if not a little older, becomes shipwrecked on the island. The story would center around her becoming use to another person on the island albeit a strange person in her view. In contrast, this Englishman who was educated in the rules of propriety and genteel ways must learn to adapt to the ways of the uncivilized island and Sarah. This would allow for some comedic moments as well as dramatic. As they give into their love, a ship arrives and they are faced with a dilema. Does he leave without Sarah? Does he stay? Will Sarah go with him or stay on the island?

oooo, i really like your idea!!!!

Best idea for a Blue Lagoon 3 in this thread.

I've seen the movie as a 16 or 17 year old boy, I had just discovered there are two different sorts of underwear, if you know what I mean, I fell in love with Milla Jovovich... and now, 15 years later, I find this gem in a second hand store, just watched it again and although it surely is not the best movie ever ever made, it has some magic to it.

Maybe I'm making things up, but it has some deepness too, like Richard/Paddy undergoing his own initiation rite by "fighting" the shark and confronting the savages and so on.

I like the idea of adding some spice by having a wild and autonomous Sarah and a 1920/30 young gentleman collide a lot; and just maybe the theme with the natives could be escalated a little further, too, to leave room for another sequel... ;-)

Boy, this thread is more than five years old. This bump will have some reverb!

Would be nice indeed...but it's the same as: "They should make a Harry Potter 8" (not even possible, but just name something :P). But it would be nice, yeah...
