WHERE in the Bible do they speak of THIS RAPTURE???

Everybody who is familiar with fundamental evangelical Christianity is familiar with what is suppose to happen during and after the rapture. The seven year tribulation and what not but you know what? It is NO WHERE to be found in the Bible! It is something concocted up by taking a few verses out of context. What a sad, sad, people we are.

That's true. I listen to a Bible Q&A on the radio (I'm not Christian but the show is interesting) and he always says there's no Biblical basis for the whole Rapture idea....

I am an atheist and give no credit to this nonsense. But I found you this in one shot in Wikipedia:

1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; 17 then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Matthew 24:29 But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send forth his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Looks a like a pretty good start on the usual description to me, it is in the bible. But the actual term "Rapture" and most of the details of modern dispensationalism were invented within the last 200 years. But then again the entire Mormon religion was invented within the last 200 years. It is all an invention.

Yes absolutely those verses do indicate this "rapture". I suppose if you can take everything from the Bible as truth but how can you when so much has been proven to be false?
