What would Cora have done

After the aborigines save Quigley and Cora, they take off because Marston's men are coming. Cora goes running down yelling her head off. Quigley shoots several of Marston's men. Quigley yells at her that she shouldn't have taken off. He could have used her help. What would she have done?

Quigley had a single shot rifle. She couldn't have helped with reloading. At most, she could only have pulled bullets from the belt and held them for him. This miight have saved him 2 seconds per shot. Not significant.

I guess that she could've spotted for him. Next target thing you know. Or watched out for his flanks in case one got away and tried to circle around him. Just a guess.

He didn't want to lose her.

I noticed this also, and thought it was just something he said to encourage her to stay near him in times of trouble. Certainly her running off toward the aborigines who had been shot only risked her life -- AND Quigley's since it gave away Quigley's position automatically.

In truth, there was nothing she could do that would have been at all useful to him, except just to keep the hell out of the way and not bollix up the situation.

In a later scene she was pulling cartridges and holding them up ready for him to take from her and load into the rifle.
