I vote that Blade is Kraus!

He is Kraus's likeness and his personality displayed in the other movies are very violent and merciless, much like Kraus. I refuse to believe that Blade is the jolly old doctor with a heart as big as Mianus. To me it just felt like the whole movie was building up the origin of Blade. Afterall Kraus didn't want to die, he had the spirit to go on fighting his side of the battle, even if he was infact evil.
The blade that we saw moving in the movie could possibly just be animated without a soul, kind of like how the sourceress in Retro Puppet Master made those wooden puppets move without souls.
An acknowledgable theory, don't ya think?

No, it was Doctor Hess, everyone knows that. Doesn't matter if you don't want it that way. The idea in the third movie was the puppets were brought to life with people's souls. Toulon isn't a sorcerer, so he couldn't bring a puppet to life any other way. So technically Blade wouldn't be alive at all.

The reason Blade goes psycho in the other movies, is most likely their souls eventually forget their former selves and take on the personality of the puppet they are. That's why the good Doctor, as Blade, becomes a murder loving psychopath. They can also lose their free will, and obey even evil wishes from their puppet master. A reason why they're evil in the first, second and sixth films.

Besides, if Blade was Kraus, he would kill Toulon. Toulon wants Kraus dead. Blade only looks like Kraus. Major Kraus or Blade is like Toulon's image of pure evil.

Blade is actually Elvis, sent back from the future to stop mankind from making another Police Academy movie.

Dr. Hess is Blade. Why would Toulon transfer Kraus's soul in Blade? Toulon wanted Kraus to die to get revenge on him for killing his wife. Hess was Andre's ally and it makes much more sense since Hess died just a couple of scenes before Blade came to life. I mean would you want your wife's killer to live? Toulon treated Blade too well for him to be Kraus. Not to mention in Retro Puppet Master, Afzel was a natural sorcerer which means he could just use magic just by waving his hand to bring Retro Pinhead to life. Toulon either had to use the life ring or life fluid to bring the puppets to life because Toulon couldn't just wave his hands to bring any sort of puppet to life.

He couldn't in this Movie, but in Puppet Master when he made Jester he waved his hands over him and said a few words, the bang Jesters head spun around..

Jester was clearly alive before that as he's in puppet master 3 which takes place before puppet master...
