All the puppets are based off his friends, which gave them the strength to be alive. So why make a puppet based off Kraus the one who killed his wife and isn't even dead yet? A lot of people say that it's Dr. Hess, but it's modeled after Kraus. And since it's modeled after Kraus, how can Hess take it over? And how can a puppet participate in the death of the person he's based off of (Blade helped out in Kraus' death).

Yes but he had already designed the puppet that way BEFORE Hess was killed. He even showed it to Hess who remarked on how much it matched Kraus. So if Hess wasn't going to die, who would have inhabited taht body?

Blade isn't really modeled after Kraus. The model is based off the drawing he had as his poster for when he was doing puppet shows... the kid says it looks like Kraus because he added the blond hair and black trench-coat.
And it's never mentioned who takes over Blade, it just happens... in part 5, you might assume it's Kraus inside of Decapitator or whatever it's name was... but Kraus says he knew the souls personally, but he never mentions that a soul must enter the body right away... thats the Chucky universe... Kraus may know 100's of souls, and has only brought back a few so far. As he says in part 5, something like "It's time to bring Decapitator to life", Kraus is a ghost, so he can possess the doll to show his face on it... but it doesn't mean it's Kraus who IS the doll when its animated.... it's like the possessing of the woman, Kraus talks through her, but he's not her... so it's not likely his soul in the puppet, so who knows whose it is.

I think he intended Blade for Kraus but when Weiss died he felt bad and put him in the puppet instead, and then they all went and killed the dude....

He only wanted him dead as revenge for killing his wife. And you mean Dr. Hess, not Weiss.
