Scream Factory Blu-ray release

After three long years, Shout! Factory finally completes the high-def series collection of Psycho, following their releases of Psycho 2 and Psycho 2. Why The Beginning wasn’t released at the same time is anyone’s guess, but that no longer matters, as it has finally arrived. One could argue that the groundwork for exploring Norman Bates’ backstory was laid back during the original film in its final moments, and The Beginning is as respectful to that as it can be without coming off as an exploitation of the Hitchcock classic. This release wasn’t the slam dunk that collectors were hoping for, as the supplements are a little light and the PQ presentation doesn’t look as good as its predecessors, but we can always fall back on the adage that this is the best Psycho IV: The Beginning has ever looked, and is leaps and bounds above its previous DVD release. This release definitely comes recommended for completists: http://www.cutprintfilm.com/blu/psycho-4/

so happy this one made it to blu. for some reason, really cant say why other than it holding some sort of nostalgic part of me after always catching it on showtime at my grandparents house yrs ago and then always catching it on usa up all nite.

I know its sort of a cheese fest in certain scenes, the flashbacks are def great. Olivia Hussey always scared the shXt outta me in some of those parts.

but this is my favorite of the Psycho sequels oddly enough.

I dnt even own the previous scream blurays of 2&3 i just have the regular dvd triple pack from yrs ago.

Psycho IV bluray i actually did pick up tho.

cant wait too watch!
