I wonder what Taymor thinks of it

With her version of The Tempest coming out, i wonder what she thinks of Prospero's Books. If nothing else, I'm sure she felt a different vision was needed. That said, I doubt it will surpass Prospero's, which is a masterpiece. Thoughts?

Taymor is a story-teller while Greenaway is more a plastic artist. Greenaway's movies are not really about telling stories in a traditional way, but about experiencing them through his incredible imagery.
Taymor is a good director as she has proven it already with movies like "Titus" or "Frida", but she ain't in the same league than a master like Greenaway.
Judy's version will be more accessible and more "entertaining" for many people but I am sure it won't reach the levels of plasticity that you can find in Greenaway's version.

Based on that trailer, I am not looking forward to Taymor's version at all - not that it was going to touch Greenaway's anyhow. I'd call Prospero's Books my favorite Shakespeare adaptation period, and there's certainly competition for that title...
