I have the same company's Drowning by Numbers dvd, and it was a good remastering, so this is wonderful news. I'm so thrilled...

The signs are good so far : if you go to Atlantic's website they list the aspect ratio for PB and BoM as the correct widescreen (and Drowning by Numbers as the incorrect 4:3).

Geeze, who would want it? This is one of the most embarrassing films of all time.

Can anybody tell me where I can buy these discs in the US? These releases are what is finally getting me into Blu-Ray. There are several internet movie stores I have seen offering these titles, but they only let people in Europe register to order them.

It's crazy how decent releases take forever to happen, because companies complain that the demand isn't there - then they finally do it and I am always waving money in my hand trying to find a seller. Much of the blame I place on the whole annoying region-coding business.

It seems that at the last minute, Atlantic have scaled down their Greenaway plans by offering Prospero's Books only on DVD, with no blu-ray release forthcoming.

The Baby of Macon blu-ray has been released, or perhaps merely escaped, since I can't find anybody willing to sell it to me. This HD master seems to be making the rounds for European releases with regionally appropriate subtitles, so far I have heard of copies in Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. Infuriating thing is that the online sellers seem to keep no copies in stock, and won't ship to the US! Still searching.

Let's hope that a few blu-ray screeners of Prospero's Books might have made it into the wild for us to see.

I received my copy of Baby of Macon and Prospero's Books from discshop.se.

The Baby of Macon dvd is of quite wonderful picture quality -- georgeous deep reds. Considering the previous alternatives on offer (a UK VHS, and an atrocious Region 4 release) I would strongly encourage Greenaway fans to pick up this release. Subtitles are removable.

Prospero's Books is more disappointing. The picture quality is superior to my dutch Kalverliefde release, however it is very obviously cropped -- during one close-up of Gielgud, for example, his eyes actually go off the screen! The cinematography and the colours and the crispness are all great -- but the cropping is really annoying.

It will be interesting to see whether the new Australian Umbrella release is the same...

Yeah every film ever made is always the "worst"or "most embarrassing film of all time" to brainless idiots like yourself.
Write a book about your worst list, why don't you: you clearly think, as do the myriad of ten year olds who think like you, that the world cares about your declaration of taste.
