Just discovered this movie in 2011

My library had it on DVD and I recognized Weaving's face on the cover so I read the blip on the back. I really enjoyed it and did find 'black' humor everytime the housekeeper moved something to trip Martin in his own home.

One question: did the Ugly (the cat) survive?
