Worst bullies ever?

I love this movie, but everytime I watch it I keep thinking the "hoons" at the drive-in are the worst bullies ever. How did Andy manage to get away from 5 of them so easily? It's shot very comically, I realize, but come on, in reality, they would have beaten him to a pulp.

In reality, Harry Potter would not be able to use magic or fly on a broom.

Ha Ha! Nice!

Harry Potter is a fantasy film. Proof is a drama. But thanks for pointing out the obvious.

They weren't really trying that hard to get him. They didn't want to kill him. They just wanted to scare him and rough him up a bit. That's my interpretation. Plus, they may have been intoxicated. Who knows...

Didn't you hear? The one with long hair whispered, "he's got a phone!" and they all backed off.

Proud of what the Republicans have done? If not, vote Democratic this November!

it's not as hard as it looks to get away from a situation like that. i've been with only 2 or 3 people before and gotten away from 10-20 in similar situations. i think the real question about this scene is that how, when there were only 2 and a girl in the car, that when andy pushed one of them, there were suddenly five of them!

You're a female, right? Then you can't imagine what pain he cause two of them when he slammed them in the testicles. Sorry, there's no delicate way to put it. They actually should have both been flat on their backs after that. On was with a fist and the other was with his shoulder straight up. It's like dental pain: you can't possibly dexcribe it or imagine it until you've had it.

ummm I think you're all missing the point. Celia is the bully in the film.

When you look away this signature is in spanish

Sure is. When I clicked on the link for this thread, I thought that's where it was going.

They weren't bullying him and picking on a blind man; they didn't even realize he was blind and the one guy, in the middle of making out with his girlfriend, suddenly saw what looked like Martin staring intently at them.

They thought he was a pervert who needed to learn a lesson, not someone weak to beat up for entertainment purposes.

I haven't watched it in many years (but just found it on Amazon and it's on its way, yippeeee!), but he may have even been sitting on the righthand side of the car (which, of course, is the driver's side over in Australia) when Andy went to get the snacks for them.
So it would never occur to them, "Hey, look at that guy watching us so fixedly; wonder if he must be blind?"

edited to add, I forgot to mention he was holding up the condoms as he apparently "stares" at them making out in the next car.
