25th Anniversary

This movie premiered on CBS on Tuesday night, November 5, 1991, and exactly one month ago had its 25th anniversary. I know I'm a month late in starting this thread, and I had planned to do it in early November for the actual anniversary, but just did not get around to it, but am doing it now.

I remember very well when this movie first came on TV, I was 23 and still living at home, and saw it in the TV Guide the previous week. I was a big fan of Playboy Magazine at the time, and though did not have a suscription brought alot of issues in 1990 and 1991 from a nearby convience store. So I was excited about this movie and definitly planned to watch it that night and also tape it on our VCR. I did, and liked it allright, but thought it depicted posing for the magazine in too negative a manner, as all three women in this movie suffered very negative consequences that did not happen (or so I hoped) in real life.

Then later that month I talked about this movie with my mother for about an hour and a half one afternoon. I knew she did not particularly approve or thought much about posing or appearing nude in any type of format, but I was somewhat suprised at how strongly she felt about the consequences the three of them suffered in it, or how unsuprised she seemed to be that those things happened to them. And it bothered me that she had such antigonism toward them and their actions, or that she felt so strongly that the same thing would happen to real life college coeds, career women, or older housewives and that they would suffer the same fates.

But I certainly did not feel the same way and continued to buy occasional Playboy magazines and bought and rented a few Playboy videos later through the nineties. We moved in 1997, and she died in 2000, but in 2006 I used the will money she left me that my sister sent to me and moved to Dade County, FL (near Miami) first and foremost to be able to go to a nude beach near there (Haulover Beach). I then went there nearly every day while I was living there in parts of 2007 and 2008 and laid and walked on it completely nude for several hours. I really loved that and had never felt so at ease or in place as I did on it like that. I also would have loved to have appeared in Playgirl myself or even appeared in a hardcore porn video (think the movie Sex Tape), though those opportunities never came to me.

But I somewhat lost interest in Playboy after the 1990s, and later became interested in a much more hardcore magazine, Hustler, which I did get a suscription for in 2008-09 and again in 2013. I also did get a suscription for Playboy in 2013 as well, but did not think it was nearly as good as it was in the 1980s and 1990s, and cancelled the last few issues of that suscription. Then earlier this year I brought three old issues of Playboy from amazon (one from 1987, two from 1990). Playboy also, as you probably know, stopped nude photos this past spring, so I have no desire to see it again, though I'm considering suscribing to Hustler again. And I do try to get back down to the Miami area for a few days every year so I can go to Haulover Beach and be nude on it. And I did want to point out this movie's 25th anniversary, though it is completely dated now that the magazine does not do nude photos anymore.
