Scariest Film...?...Is it A Grindhouse Film...?

I saw this film when I was 5 years old, and it scared the hell out of me. My brothers thought it was great but funny. I have to say that this is one of the scariest films ever, what do the rest of you think.

Also, since it was not such a big hit and it's is really a cult classic, do you think it can be classified as a Grindhouse film?

this film is boring and rubbish from what I remember about it and in absolutely no way one of the scariest films ever.

The movie itself was cheesy as hell but there was a part that really scared me.
I mean the short "Possessor" movie of the real killer. I saw it when I was about 8-9, I already was a horror freak and It was hard to really scare my, but that particular scene is one of the few that made me SCREAM...

The only other movie that scared me so much back then was "The Exorcist".

As the film was released in the 90's, after most 42nd street grindhouses had closed I wouldn't consider it a grindhouse film.

I actually like this film, but NO WAY is it a grindhouse film. It strictly played multiplexes in suburbia. Nobody is going to confuse sweet, cute girl-next-door Jill Schoelen with Dyanne "Ilsa" Thorne.

"Cannibal Holocaust" was a grindhouse film. "I Spit on your Grave" was a grindhouse film. This is strictly a safe, jokey early 90's teen slasher (and even a fairly bloodless one). It may have scared you if you saw it as a kid, but a genuine grindhouse film would have traumatized you for life--hell, the smell of an genuine grindhouse would probably traumatized you for life.

I wouldn't call it the scariest ever. But Lanyard Gates and the burns victim were both pretty gross/creepy.
