I don't think it was a real film. There is no listing under the IMDB.

Well there are similar movies though like that I believe that are older or modern because I have seen some movies about mosquitos done. See how creative they use to be about movies in the past?

They still come out with creative movies but they lack what they made in the past. Could it be that there is way too much of Politically Correctness? I happen to think so myself.

The whole movie industry is to squeeze in the younger generations and not for fans of the art you know.

Bug Buster from 1998 with Katherine Heigl was cheesy and silly. It was about cockroaches. I seen that a few times on VHS.

I agree there were a lot of cool cheesy films made in the past.

reply

I am glad that you agree with me on that. Yes there were a lot of great movies that were cheesy that were very good though.

I must say, Mosquito did look like a better film than Popcorn. I would have rather watched it.

I also thought that was Crispin Glover in the film about the guy who gets the electric chair and lives. I swear, the guy looks just like him (I didn't hear what his name was in the movie to know what actor plays him).

I couldn't sit through all of Popcorn, it was just way too much for me (Watched on Netflix Watch Instantly).

I loved watching this and I own a old VHS copy of it and it is great to watch anytime that I want to now. I saw this back in the 80's and thought it was a great movie to watch!

There is a movie called Mosquito but it's not the same movie. The one I've seen has Gunnar Hansen (aka Leatherface) picking up a chainsaw to kill huge mosquitos. It's pretty funny and I have it on VHS.

reply

Oh ok. Thanks for letting me know about it! COOL I bet that movie is funny to watch and it is great that you have it on VHS.

I just watched this movie again today. I have it on dvd. I remember watching it on cable tv along time ago. Its a movie that makes me remember my childhood. Theres alot of movies that make me feel this way.

I know what you mean because I remember watching tons of movies as well. The first time I saw this was in the late 80's or early 90's on TBS or TNT. That has been some time ago when cable TV and the networks were a lot better in showing a little of everything and when I mean a little of everything you would see classic movies from a lot of variety.

Now all these major networks want to show is movies for the teenagers to the 35 year old demographich and anyone who wants to watch classic movies have to either watch Turner Classic Movies or by chance some network is showing something that is a classic movie for them to enjoy.

The actor was Bruce Glover, the father of Crispin.

Most people remember Bruce's part as the creepy (and not so subtly gay) assassin for SPECTRE known as Mr. Wint (paired with another character, Mr. Kidd) in the 007 film "Diamonds Are Forever".

Yes, I agree .. My first stop after the film.. well, actually whilst I was part way through it .. was to find out if 'Mosquito' etc were real (I'm afraid I was pretty certain I'd seen 'Amazing electrical man'!). Sadly not.
Yes, I'd much rather have watched the 'fakes' than the real one ..

No, it was made for the film.

However, you might enjoy the classic atomic horror films "Them!" and "The Deadly Mantis", which were clearly the basis for "Mosquito".

Oh those "fake" movies were so much more fun than Popcorn! And the actors in them seemed to having a lot of fun camping it up.

Oh and to the one poster who said the electrocuted man in the fake movie looked like Crispin Glover, he should. The actor is actually Crispin Glover's Dad!
