A satisfying ending that would have made a lot more sense... to others. While Bodhi surely didn't deserve to get what he wanted, the movie's conclusion works for me. Utah must've felt that he had nothing to lose by letting Bodhi (someone he couldn't help but still admire) have his biggest thrill, and so he basically said "fck it". In a way, I find that cool.
