Tanaka had to be at least partly inspired by Oddjob. (Spoilers)

In addition to the similar look, he fights like James Bond's Oddjob as well. They both ignore the offense of their weaker opponents and toy with them at leisure. That fight at the end was basically the martial arts version of the Fort Knox fight from Goldfinger. Even the ending to the fight is similar.

Goldfinger:
- Bond misses Oddjob with his own steel-rimmed bowler hat, then electrocutes Oddjob when he goes to grab it.

The Perfect Weapon:
- Sanders misses Tanaka with his own bladed belt, then fries Tanaka when he goes to grab it.
