(try to exclude certain corny flicks like most of van damme, seagal, etc.)

name some of your favorite martial arts movies u can still enjoy today, below are some of mine off the top of my head, in no order...some corny flicks might just be listed cuz i liked it & haven't watched since i was a kid...btw, try to mention which movies are not available on DVD...

-big boss
-fist of fury
-way of the dragon
-enter the dragon
-dragon, the bruce lee story
-rapid fire
-showdown in little tokyo
-ong bak
-the protector
-king of the kickboxers
-crouching tiger, hidden dragon

-fearless
-wu tang
-???
-any decent dolph lundgren movies? i just remember corny flicks...
-any decent donnie yen movies to suggest? i'm not familiar with him...

Some of those are some of the late 70's to early 80's martial arts movies that I remember going to see with my father when I was a kid. I even remember a few of these going to the drive-in and having Godfather's Pizza and some Coke while watching these movies here.

I'll be giving you a few Donnie Yen titles.
HIGHLY recommended!

- "Ip Man" (2008)
- "S.P.L.: Kill Zone" (2005)
- "Legend of the Wolf" (1997)
- "Iron Monkey" (Parts 1 & 2)(1993/96)(skip these if you don't like wire-work)
- "In the Line of Duty" (1989)
- "Drunken Tai Chi" aka "Drunken Tai Chi Master" (1984)

That is not a complete list of all his movies, but rather my personal list of recommendations.
All of these are brilliant martial arts movies and show Yen's skills quite well.
You'll be looking for more of him, once you have seen one of those.

Maybe I should point out that his screen presence has improved over the years.
You may want to try a movie from both ends of the timescale.

I could also recommend a number of non-Donnie movies. If there is any interest.

Above the Law (Segal's only respectable one)

Ong Bak
Ip Man

These are my choices because they are good movies that carry a spirit of Martial Arts. I might be missing a few titles here and there.

My favorites in no particular order:

Enter the Dragon
The Way of the Dragon
Fist of Fury
The Big Boss
The Perfect Weapon
Bloodfist II
Bloodsport
Kickboxer
No Retreat No Surrender
Shootfighter: Fight to the Death
The Karate Kid trilogy (though they're rather tame)

Some of Seagal's are good, mostly his early ones, but I forget the names at the moment.

Very good. But brick not hit back!
