this movie ROCKS

one of the best martial arts movies ever made.

Why one of the best?

It introduces a style, Ed Parker's AMerican Kempo Karate
(shows legit martial arts rather than just actors who trained
for the movie)

has good fights, good action, and also has martial philosophy in it.
many times the philosophy part in movies is portrayed corny, but not
in this one.

I love the whole Kempo ring, how it has a dragon on one side, a tiger
on the other and he rotates it to tiger when he fights.
In the end he is able to make it to the "dragon" level.

other scenes to note was the part where he was doing his Kempo form
to the music I got the power by snap.

I thought this was a good movie. The acting was weak, but the action more than made up for it.

I own it on VHS, and am surprised that it's not on DVD. It's a good movie, and I'm glad I own it, but I think that this should get a DVD release someday.

It's Japanese Kanji, it can be pronounced KeNpo and KeMpo.

i would have to say this movie has good fights, and is definetley worth seeing if you are into martial arts movies. It kinda plays out like a computer game, but in my opinion is better than most van damme and segal movies, with the exception of univerasal soldier, hard target and segalls under siege and marked for death. This is not in the tops of martial arts movies, but id probaby put it at number 11,if there was a top 10.

it's keNpo.. theres a big difference.. go do some research

Yep rosslimOz,very true. Ed Parker's Kenpo Karate is different from Kempo, normally referred to as Shorinji Kempo. Two very different and distinct arts.

Watched the novie years ago - crap acting - good action - Speakman's kata at the start is tremendous.
