If only Stallone could pronounce his own name.

I have always liked this movie, and I do not like Stallone at all.

Only one thing has always bothered me. Everyone else says Provolone or Provolonay with an accented "E"; that's cool.

Why, oh why does Stallone pronounce it Prevelone? Does he say Stellone? Is it some kind of speech impediment?

The movie makes a specific point that he speaks like an illiterate gangster. . . .

It's his last name, not the capital of Finland. Also, a well known italian cheese.

People say 2 ways on the show, not just "snaps". I think it can be either way.

The usual rule is that the "correct" pronunciation of people's names is the one used by the people themselves. It is, indeed, true that the pronunciation that articulates the e at the end would be closer to the Italian original, but that does not mean it is the correct version. It is quite common for people to pronounce their name differently from the way it would be pronounced in the language where the name originated, even if they are well aware of this original pronunciation.
