I'd never even heard of this movie till I saw it sittin on the shelf at Best Buy...
maybe it's just me, but it seems to be one of those hidden gems that surprise you every once in a while.
I agree. I watched this film shortly after it came out and really enjoyed it.

My wife and I saw most of it again tonight, and I really think that it's one of John Candy's finest movies, and with Maureen O'Hara as his mom and Ally Sheedy as his love interest, it's extremely well cast. How can Maureen O'Hara look so damned hot at her age?!?
