Vote to get Only Yesterday on DVD!

Well, Ghibli movie "Only Yesterday" has been shelved indefinately by Disney, because of having scenes about female periods in it. However the film recently showed on TCM. TCM has an area where you can vote to suugest to get the film on DVD: http://tcmdb.com/title/title.jsp?scarlettTitleId=632548

Don't know if I buy the reason given by the OP as to why Disney won't release this. If that's the problem, just put it under one of the other trademarks, like they do with Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Hellraiser, Halloween and other non family fare.

Voted. This wonderful movie deserves a DVD release. It's as good as anything by Studio Ghibli, which says a lot.

I could but the only thing that sucks is I would need to purchase a Region Free DVD player cuase those European DVDs only operate on Region 2 DVD players, and I'm out of luck since in America it's only Region 1.

Those releases usually contain both English dub and original language with English subtitles.

This is the only exception. This release will contain the japanese track with english subtitles. No dub has ever been produced for this movie.
The special "making of featurette" will also be included with subtitles too. The UK release is set for September and the Australian release for October. The discs are identical except for region code and pakaging.
If your desperate, you could always import (for those in the US) when these releases come out.

I voted a while back but I recently noticed the "Suggest this movie" link. I think people should suggest they play it and more often so more people can see this incredible film.

Very true since it was one of the top anime films in Japan back in 1991.

Ok, it is Region 0 or all region coded, so it is possible my dvd player won't play it. But there are 12 movies for $60, including Omohide poro poro!
