Conversations on Ghibli - my new weblog

Hi, everyone. This is a short note to let you know about my new weblog about all things Ghibli. It's called, simply, Conversations on Ghibli and I hope you come to visit. I've written many reviews of the Studio Ghibli films for my main website (accessable via External Links), and now I'd like to create a definitive Ghibli resource on the web. I'm also doing this to finally publish that book I've been promising to write.

I'll be writing regularly about a wide variety of topics, so feel free to visit and share with all your friends. Ja, sayonara!

Aw, shucks. You're making me blush :P

That's a good bit of timing, I suppose, since we'll be watching this movie on my weblog later this weekend.

I was lucky to DVR it when it was on TV and didn't get around to watching it until recently. It was completely awesome. Your site is cool and got me to search YouTube, which led me to finding Ghiblies and some other good Ghibli stuff.

We'll be going over Poro Poro this week on the Ghibli blog. It'll be the next Movie Night, and there will be a number of posts that dissect the film. Yadda yadda.

How do you manage to get all this insider stuff on Ghibli like getting Horus, Prince of the Sun and Only Yesterday? I've seen all of Miyazaki's work including On Your Mark, Nandarou, and the Sky Colored Seed, all Takahata's work, Ghiblies 1 & 2, Whisper of the Heart, The Cat Returns, have access to Ocean Waves, am going to be purchasing Panda! Go Panda!, Castle of Cagliostro, Puss in Boots, and Animal Treasure Island. So what else do I need to see all things related to Ghibli? Hope you can help, thanks if you can.

Anyways, I found out about Ghibli through toonami when Spirited Away was coming out. I was like 10 and I thought it looked good so I saw it in theaters. Then I found Castle in the Sky and realized Kiki was Ghibli (which I'd seen before) and then from there I saw everything I could. What about you? I really don't find many people with as big as an interest in Ghibli as me, so I've always wanted to talk to one.

Also, I wanted to ask if you think Horus, Prince of the Sun will ever come to the US?

Could you maybe help me figure out how to download one of your downloads listed on your site step by step? I spent almost 2 hours trying to download Horus and managed to get the file to work only on DivX player, and then I downloaded directvobsub or something that was supposed to make the subtitles show up and it didnt work, so if i could have the programs and everything to be able to watch a subtitled version of Horus, I'd really appreciate it, or if you could link me to some kind of guide or something, it'd help. Hope it won't be hard, but if it is can you just give me a few suggestions like the programs I need for it? Thanks
