The part where they're talking about going to Atami really confused me when she mentioned her sisters would never get caught going to a place like Atami, and her friend had a questioning expression on her face when she told her she was going to Atami for hot springs.

is it possible someone can explain to me why they seemed bugged out over atami..??

I think maybe it's because Atami was a place that people of the older generation went to for holiday before the war and after.It has unhip to be seen or tellanyone you are going there.That's the empression i got.
