30mins in...and review of film

I laughed so hard!
Kids can be so juvenile! From the pace of the first 30mins, I was not expecting this at all. I thought it would be a quietly nostalgic and reflective film.

My overall feeling was that she was a late bloomer. She had these boys interested in her but she was too naive and aloof. I feel bad she didn't get her chance with the acting. I felt the most opportune time for this chance was gone. I know her Mum was using "timidness" as a lame excuse for, Her father won't allow it. So when she took up acting in college, she got it out of her system but it wasn't what she thought it would be.

It's good we live in a more understanding society where we are encouraged to follow the paths in which we excel in. I'm glad the role of "father" has warmed up in this day and age. They are no longer the distant breadwinner but a hands on parent. I learnt about farming!

I chose this film as it caught my eye amongst the Ghibli trailers but more for the basic plotline.
